Psychiatry

Psychiatrists are medical doctors and the only type of mental health professional able to prescribe medication.

A referral letter from your GP or therapist is desirable however is not required. A referral letter can be uploaded at the time of booking.

All of our Psychiatrists:

  • are fully registered Specialists with the Irish Medical Council
  • have membership of the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland
  • are experienced in telemedicine
  • practice the latest in evidence-based treatments
  • are knowledgeable, compassionate and caring
  • are trustworthy and work to the highest ethical standards

Our service does not currently cater for individuals under the age of 18.

Common conditions that psychiatrists can help with include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, trauma & PTSD, psychosis, panic attacks – all conditions are covered.

When booking your appointment, please add a brief summary of your condition which will be reviewed by the psychiatrist in advance of your consultation.

Fees Explained

General Psychiatry

Initial psychiatry assessments with the Consultant Psychiatrist are of one hour's duration and cost €320. This cost includes a written opinion or assessment letter, a suggested treatment plan, and formal diagnosis where indicated.

A follow-up appointment may be indicated after an initial appointment with the Consultant Psychiatrist. The Psychiatrist will indicate the required length of the follow-up appointment. These range from 30 minutes duration at a cost of €160 to 60 minutes duration and cost €320 (inclusive of a letter to your GP).

ADHD

ADHD Assessment consists of two one-hour consultations (ADHD Assessment 1 and ADHD Assessment 2) with the Consultant Psychiatrist, at a cost of €320 per one hour assessment. This cost includes a written opinion or assessment letter, a suggested treatment plan, and formal diagnosis where indicated.

Depending on diagnosis, a further follow-up appointment may be indicated after Assessment 1 and 2 are completed. Follow-up appointments are of 30 minutes duration and cost €160 (inclusive of a letter to your GP).

We strongly recommend that you book your two consultations together to avoid a long delay between your ADHD Assessment 1 and ADHD Assessment 2. Appointments must be booked a minimum of one week apart.
