Basic Metabolic Profile

Check and monitor your body's basic metabolic function: cholesterol level, liver and kidney function Many diseases, conditions and medications can cause an elevation in liver and kidney function tests.

If either a liver or a kidney function test is abnormal, the next step is to determine what the underlying cause is by speaking with a GP, who may recommend further tests.

Cholesterol is a waxy substance that is found naturally in the body, and is an important part of the body's normal function. Too much cholesterol can lead to deposits forming in artery walls throughout the body, narrowing the vessels and increasing the risk of stroke, heart attack, and peripheral artery disease.

Regular checking of your cholesterol levels can help minimise the risk of these conditions.
